Six of the Best Beaches South of Alicante

Arenales del Sol beach with almost three kilometres of fine white sand the quality of its waters and the richness of its marine life make it one of the most valued on the coast of Alicante, its dunes are embryonic, mobile, semi-permanent, permanent and even fossil. It is connected with the Clot de Galvany Nature Reserve, a wetland located between the urban area of Arenales del Sol and Gran Alacant . Facilities include: restaurants,shops, kiosks, ice cream parlours and a street market (between 15th June and 15th September) on Tuesday and Friday afternoon, selling excellent fresh produce; you will also find traders selling clothes and shoes and other products.

The wide beach of El Altet 2 kilometers of fine white sand and dune ecosystem located between Urbanova and Arenales del Sol, it has been awarded with a blue flag for its quality and accessibility andfacilities.There is plenty of parking, foot washers, wooden walkways, a refreshment stall, areas to practice volleyball, deckchairs and beach umbrellas renting and lifeguard services.

El Carabassí beach,a fine golden sand beach backed by a system ofhigh golden dunes and pine forests. Due to the richness of its marine life native interesting flora and fauna and its location near the salt marshes and wetlands of Balsares and Clot de Galvany form a unique ecosystem deserving of ecological protection. It has lots of parking,with a large network of wooden walkways that run between a dunes, from where you can admire the vast, unspoilt coastline.One part of this beach is classified asa free (nudist) beach,however on busy summers days you will find bathers of all types, clothed and naked, so if you are easily offended go elsewhere.

El Pinet, Beach a vast pine forest that stretches from Nature Reserve of las Salinas (the salt marshes) of Santa Pola south to Guardamar del Segura. Fine, golden sand, which extends nearly two kilometres, part of the beach is occupied with villas, built in the 1950s, where you will find restaurants and accommodation on the seashore. There is lifeguard service, foot washers, a large parking area and numerous wooden gangways giving easy access to the beach from the road.

La Marina Beach, with a blue flag status is located between the beaches of El Pinet and Les Pesqueres-El Rebollo, it can be accessed by the N-332. The beach has lifeguard vigilance, a service offering beach umbrellas and deckchairs hire and the possibility to practice water sports .One and a half kilometres of golden sand dunes and a vast pine forest of special ecological interest make up this most attractive beach of the little hamlet of La Marina which has cafes, pharmacy supermarkets, restaurants, tourist information office and one hotel amongst and Camping International La Marina, one of the best campsites on the Spanish Mediterranean coast,
